Who I am

South Therapy is run by Josephine Odufuwa, a psychotherapist and counsellor, who is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me at south.therapy@outlook.com.

What I collect

  • Details you give when you get in touch: your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell me in your message.
  • If we work together: brief session notes and information about your health and wellbeing, which is “special category” data under UK GDPR.

How I use it and why

I use your information to respond to your enquiry, arrange and provide therapy, and keep the records my professional body requires. The lawful basis is to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract. Health information is processed for the provision of health care under a duty of confidentiality.

Who I share it with

I do not sell or share your information for marketing. Enquiries made through the online form are processed by Jotform, and email is handled by Microsoft Outlook. I may discuss client work anonymously in clinical supervision. I would only share identifiable information without your consent where the law requires it or where there is a serious risk of harm.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, in line with my professional and legal obligations. It is then securely deleted or destroyed.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or ask me to restrict how I use it. To do so, email me. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
